10 places to visit in Chicago - my personal favorite
Updated: Nov 2, 2019
We live in Chicago suburb. Each weekend we are in downtown Chicago for a walk/food/shopping. During the last five years here, I’ve found my favorite places to eat, to visit, to relax and to enjoy in Chicago. I’m pleased to share them with YOU, and really hope this will be helpful 😉. I will break my favorite/must see places in Chicago into a few categories: Restaurants/Food, Must Visit attractions and Free “To-Do“ Things:
We’ll start with Restaurants, because this is number ONE thing for me. If I’m hungry, I don’t want to visit anything! 😀
For a cozy and nice Breakfast/Brunch, I would choose Fig and Olive italian restaurant, downtown Chicago. It is located right next to Dolce & Gabbana store, and next to Michigan Ave.There is parking on the street, but also Valet Service available.
Why Fig and Olive? - it is beautifully designed, with great service, live music 🎶, amd delicious food 🥘. Their cocktails are amazing - I love Raspberry Mohito and Mimosa the best there. From food- the AMAZING ”Salmon and Shrimp Salad”. Can eat it repeatedl, again and again, each time we go there! It is not a salad- it’s full dish, with a piece of salmon, a stick of grilled shrimps and arugula with an extraordinary sauce. Yummy! Also, their special are the CROSTINI- various small bruschetta bites. You may choose from Fig, Burrata, Shrimp, Prosciutto and other Bruschetta. They are amazing! For kids, they carry delicious thin-crust pizza 🍕 and pasta. All food is high quality, taste great and look Beautifully!
Next amazing and unique must-visit restaurant in Chicago is the famous- RPM Italian. Again, an italian place, as you can see from the name, this place is owned by a Hollywood star- celebrity couple Bill and Giuliana Rancic, award-winning executive chef Doug Psaltis and siblings R.J., Jerrod and Molly Melmman of Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises. But not only because of the celebs is this place popular and busy, but also because of its super tasty and good-looking dishes. My favorites appetizers are Beef Carpacci, Big-Eye Tuna Bruschetta, Lobster Caprese, and the delicious Brussel Sprouts Avocado Salad! I’m not a big fan of pizzas, but their thin-crust Truffle Mushrooms little pizza is unforgettable! For the main, I would suggest the Beanzinno in lemon-butter sauce (can be shared), or the Spicy King 🦀 Crab Black Pasta. Drinks- all are good, my Moscow Mule is great there.
The interior design is contemporary-moden with low lighting and cozy atmosphere at the tables and by the bar. The place is beautiful and romantic, perfect for a date, a special occasion, or a family dinner. Valley parking available.
For more of a ”Night-atmosphere” and
sports lovers- Bottled Blonde. This is our favorite place for UFC fights, Box, soccer and Football games, as well as delicious appetizers and shared plates, as well as amazing cocktails 🍸. After 10pm this places turns into a club, with table bottle service. There is always plenty of people by the Bar, and the entire athmosphere is very busy and fun. The waitresses are all dressed in sexy outfits. All girls are pretty and have beautiful bodies.
